Abstract

Background: The rapid development of technology has significantly impacted various sectors, including healthcare. The adoption of information technology, such as Electronic Medical Record systems, has become crucial for improving operational efficiency and service quality. Objectives: This study aims to analyze the cost efficiency and benefits of implementing an Electronic Medical Record system at RSU PKU Muhammadiyah Banjarnegara. Methods: This study uses a qualitative approach to compare the cost components and incentives before and after the Electronic Medical Record implementation. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and analysis of the hospital's financial documents. Results: The results indicate that the electronic medical record implementation significantly provides cost efficiency, reflected in reduced expenditures related to data management, archive storage, and other administrative costs. Furthermore, Electronic Medical Record also enhances transparancy, operational convenience, and the maintenance of patient medical data. Conclusion: In conclusion, the implementation of Electronic Medical Records not only provides substantive benefits in the form of increased efficiency but can also serve as a strategic solution to address operational challenges in the healthcare sector. The recommendation of this study is that other healthcare institutions can consider adopting similar technology to achieve optimal efficiency.
